Elsie was known by her relatives to be a scheming type of personality. She liked to put on "airs" a bit and had her neices, Mary and Cora enter by the back door or "servant's entrance" when visiting or delivering gifts from her relatives. When her sister Auntie May passed away Auntie Elsie tried to have Auntie May's will rewritten and keep some of the items for herself including a large emerald ring that was bequeathed to Cora "Mike" Cox, her neice. Mike had to go to England to get the ring in person before Elsie relenquished it. |
