Elizabeth Dixon on -- April 1674 by George Johnson, Justice of thePeace. She may have been m. 1st George Wilson. . . . Robert m. 2nd Frances Gillet, dau. of Jarman and Ann Gillet. . . . Robert Dukes, SO Co., immigrated into this province from Virginia by 1671 and recorded his cattle mark which was described as "a flower de luce of each ear & one nick under the left ear" on 20 April 1671. . . . On 17 Feb 1672/3 George Wilson and wife Elizabeth, SO Co., conveyed 150 a. of tract Dixon's Lott (formerly owned by Ambrose Dixon) to Robert Dukes. On 14 July 1685 "Robert Dukes and Elizabeth Dukes (Elizabeth Wilson)" conveyed 150 acres of tract Dixon's Lott in Morumsco called Dukes Place to George Wilson. The children of Robert and Elizabeth Dukes recorded in SO Co. were Elizabeth (b. 7 Feb 1674/5 at Morumsco), Mary (b. 11 Jul 1677 at Anamessex), Robert (b. 12 Nov 1672), John (b. 13 June 1684), and Sarah (b. 5 Aug 1687 about two o'clock in the morning). Robert Dukes, SO Co., accquired 350 acres tract Beard Neck on 19 Sep 1676. Robert Dukes, SO Co., acquired 100 acres tract Hog Hummock on 28 May 1681. Elizabeth Dukes, wife of Robert, d. and bur. at the meeting house in Anamessex on the last day of Feb, 1687/8. In 1687 John Tankred of Accomack Co., VA., sold 200 a. to Jarman and Ann Gillet, and after their deaths it was to go to their daus Comfort and Frances, all of SO Co. In 1706 Joseph and Comfort Morris and Robert and Frances Dukes joined in a sale to William Daniell. Ambrose Dixon, SO Co., d. leaving a will dated 7 April 1686, proved 10 Aug 1688, and mentioned his dau. Elizabeth Dukes, wife of Robert Dukes. (Pages 111-112)
