George Washington Wilson - b. 25 June 1811 - d. 13 Dec. 1861. He married Lovina Ferrell - 1834 - in Marion Co., Va. After the death of his father, Thomas Wilson in 1826, G.W. lived withhis brother, Eugenlus Wilson. He was a C. S. A. soldier, in the Civil War. He died at age 50, and is buried in the Wright Cemetery at Cremo, Calhoun Co., WV (more about G.W. Wilson later.)
NOTE: Some researchers believe that George Washington Wilson was the son of Archibald and Mary Bowen Wilson of Marion County. To date (1999) this issue has not been resolved.

George Washington Wilson. 1811 - 1861. Born in Monongalia Co., at Morgantown, Va. s/o Honorable Thomas and Mary Belle (Poage) Wilson. NOTE: Some researchers believe that George Washington Wilson was the son of Archibald and Mary Bowen Wilson of Marion County. To date (1999) this issue has not been resolved. They were of Scotch-Irish decent and he
was one of five boys and three girls in this family. He was educated in the common schools and a graduate of Morgantown Academy (later this became West Virginia University.) m. 5 Mar. 1834 in Monongalia Co., Va. to Lovina Ferrell. (record in Vol. 3, page 85 at office of county clerk, Monongalia Co.). His wife's parents, Robert Ferrell Jr. and Rachel Griggs, they lived at White Day Place, Marion Co.
George W. Wilson and Lovina, his wife, lived at Big Root, near the Hunt Cemetery. He was shot to death by Union Soldiers at Richardson in Roane Co. He is buried at Wright Cemetery, Calhoun Co., WV. His wife, Lovina Ferrell Wilson was b. 26 Oct. 1814- d. 31 March 1891, cause of death, nervous prostration and palsy. At the time of her death she lived on Yellow Creek, she is
buried at the Hunt Cemetery. They had children:

1. Mary Belle Wilson b. 3 May 1835 - Monongalia Co., Va. m. #I. Nelson M. Richards in Gilmer
Co., s/o Micheal & Caroline (Wilson) Richards. He was b. 10 July 1831 in Harrison Co. Va., and
d. 30 June 1873 at home, Ayers, on Yellow Creek. He is buried in Ayers Cemetery on Spring
Fork. Years ago, John L. & Frank Richards (grandsons of this subject) erected a monument at his
grave, inscribed; N.R. - July 10, 1831 - June 30,1873. Along with the graves of his daughter,
Lovina Richards and George Wilson Jr. s/o Robert & Jane Wilson, his grave is enclosed in a
concrete box. Mary Belle Wilson m. #2. John D. Collins - b. 31 Dec. 1824. Enlisted 22 Dec.
1861, Wirt Co., he was a private in Company C, 11th. West Va. Regiment; discharged in March
1865. d. 4 June 1915 - buried in Nobe Cemetery. Mary Belle Wilson Richards Collins d. 30
May 1907- she was 72 yrs. old. She died at Kanawha, WV. Buried in Nobe Cemetery.
