Spencer Hill Spencer Hill is the son of Francis Hill. He was a Revolutionary Soldier, born in 1762. He was with Washinton at Valley Forge when he was sixteen years old. He married Mary Rutherford, they had 14 children. They moved from Bath County Virginia, to what is now Belva, Nicholas County, West Virginia around 1790. He died on October 8, 1855 at 93 years of age. He is buried at the Hill Family Cemetery in Belva, West Virginia where D.A.R. has placed a marker on his grave. Their children are the following Jane Hill - married Richard Payne, died in Greenup, Kentucky Betty Hill - married John Keyser, lived in Cabell County, West Virginia Robert Dosier Hill - married Lettie Estep, lived in Lizemore, Clay County, West Virginia Martin Hill - lived in Monroe County, West Virginia Spencer Hill Jr. - married a Jarrett John Hill - married a Kiger, lived in Gauley, West Virginia. He was Sheriff of the county, widely known Mason, and philanthropist Moses Mann Hill - Married Felicty VanBibber, daughter of Mathias (Tice) VanBibber, the renounced scouut of and comrade of Daniel Boone. Her sisiter, Chloe married Jesse Boone. Moses Mann Hill began the practice of medicinewhen he was 55 years old and continued until his death in 1872 when he was stricken with paralsis while on a visit to a patient near Summersville, West Virginia. His practice extended from Webster County to Kanawha County.
