Clarksburg, WVA. Anna, dau of Celia L. THOMAS LEMLEY b. Minnie, WV and Floyd Columbus SIMMONS b. Pendleton CO., WV Celia L. THOMAS LEMLEY, dau of Robert "Bob" Sanford THOMAS LEMLEY and Malissa Jane WHITEMAN - Minnie, WVA - they migrated around from Randolph, Tyler and Wetzel Counties of WVA. Robert "Bob" Sanford THOMAS LEMLEY, son of Nancy THOMAS b. in OH d. Wetzel Co, WV and Richard LEMLEY of the YOHO and LEMLEY heritage of OH, WV, VA and PA. Robert Sanford LEMLEY, my great grandfather was 1st married (prior to my great grandmother Malissa) to Permilla BROOKOVER b 1856 also prob. in Minnie, Wetzel Co., WV, dau of Eli BROOKOVER b 1810 in either PA or OH - d 1894 Minnie, WV and Katherine MERCER b Nov 5, 1822 d Jan 1, 1892. Malissa J. WHITEMAN, Robert's 2nd wife was also married prior to Robert LEMLEY to Permilla's brother John L. BROOKOVER b 1851. Other children of Eli and Katherine BROOKOVER include: Jake and William M. BROOKOVER - twins b. Mar 15, 1854 and William, who d. July 7, 1930 m. Malissa Jane WHITEMAN'S sister Alice "Elsie" M. WHITEMAN b Sep 15, 1860 d Jun 15, 1950 and their children are as follows: Lillie May, Anna Jane, Mary Catherine, Ely Marhsall, John Wm., Phoebe Bell, Jarrett Colvin "Carl", Fred, Lottie Francis, James Leslie, Rose Virginia, Herbert Luther. Most everyone above was probably in Wetzel Co, WV once VA at one time or another and surely many descendans scattered around the country. There does not appear to be too many BROOKOVER'S. My great grandmother Malissa Jane WHITEMAN, once spelled as WEIDMAN was more then likely "Mennonite - Dutch" from PA. Some surnames included in her lineage are: GRIM(M), BUCHANAN, ANDERSON COWGER SWECKER, just to name a few. She had 5 to 6 children with John L. BROOKOVER (above son of Eli). Her youngest daughter Jane was raised with the LEMLEY'S. I have pictures of Malissa visiting with some of her BROOKOVER daughters along with their children and some of her daughters from Robert LEMLEY. They all seem very happy to visit one another and I believe the picture was taken on WHITEMAN Mountain (owned by a private party now) at SNUFF Chapel where she attended church as a little girl as the picture appears to be the porch of the Chapel and the backgroung is valleys and mountains, something I remember as a child seeing. Looking for anyone that might be connected to my Malissa Jane's children below: I might add that she was the dau of John Marshall "Marsh" WHITEMAN and Eliza Jane BUCHANAN born in PA, migrated into Crabbottom, old Pendleton Co., VA, now WV - migrating into Wetzel Co., and prob. had connections in Tyler, Highland and Ohio Counties too. John L. BROOKOVER and Malissa Jane WHITEMAN'S children: T.A. b unk, James W. b 1878, Jessie Theodore b Jul 1879-80 m. Flora May HAWKINS - child Cora Mae, Linda b abt 1887 m. Unk BOURNE, George Washington b Apr 26, 1888 and Ida Jane "Eliza" b Aug 3, 1889 d bef 1949 raised with LEMLEY'S. If I'm not mistaken, I don't believe that Jane ever married though I could be wrong on that.
