| I also have a Margaret Mahan in my family and the birth date is the same but I have never been able to find her parents. Records show that she was born in PA or NJ. Her first husband was James Robb Elrod and they were married (June 8, 1815) in Kentucky -probably Maysville, Mason County and eventually moved to Clermont County, Ohio. James Robb Elrod died in Clermont County and she married her second husband, Stephen Frazee in 1826 This is very similar to your Mahan's migration. Some of Margaret's childrenthen moved to Ripley County, Indiana (southeastern Indiana, near Cincinnati, Ohio). James Robb Elrod, her first husband, was also a Baptist preacher. It seems some of your Mahan's were preachers also. Would it be possible for you to send me copies of your sources for Margaret's parents? Or where I can look to find these records? Margaret Mahan and James Robb Elrod had 4 children. Their oldest son was George Washington Elrod (1816-196). He married Mary Ann Osborne (her family also followed this same migration - PA, KY, Clermont County, OH to Indiana). My husband's paternal grandmother was an Elrod and James Robb Elrod and Margaret Mahan Elrod were her gr gr grandparents. Thank you very much for any help you can give me.
